An appealing alternative to gym-based schemes, Breathe Outside brings a breath of fresh air to traditional GP exercise referral. We offer outdoor 'green' activity and movement that makes use of available and accessible local spaces, led by an exercise specialist professional.
Exercising outdoors is typically perceived as less effort compared with indoors, so greater mental and physical benefits may be possible. As outdoor activity is flexible, free and enjoyable, positive behaviour change and adopting exercise as part of a lifestyle is more likely to happen.
Operating a year-round all weather scheme, Breathe Outside will encourage you to embrace the elements and enjoy seasonal weather with all the benefits that brings. Programmes and locations are adapted throughout the year to work with the seasons and stay connected to nature to maximise the mental health benefit.
Breathe Outside is a Community Interest Company (CIC). The primary aim of the organisation is to benefit the overall health and wellbeing of local communities by improving mental and physical health outcomes with physical activity in green spaces.
As a CIC, Breathe Outside returns any financial profits to the company, further investing in resources to reach more people in the community who can benefit.
